When the effect I'm looking for is one that affects every hit equally the same. I get a really good transient on the first hit, then a really soft hit on the next. This is especially the case when I have drums with very quickly-preceding notes (i.e. But the problem I keep running into is that the plugin will only affect the first note and seemingly not the preceding notes. My issue/question: I have tried using my SPL Transient designer and the Waves Trans-X to enhance transients on drums.

I'm posting this question here, as a noob (relatively), because 1) I'm not exactly sure how to phrase it adequately and 2) can't find it in the search. I just dont think it blows anything away. i dont expect you to be the least bit concerned about shooting this out. Just proclaiming one blows the other away doesnt make it so, and i think i can prove that even yourself would have a hard time identifying the TReck file under most circumstances, which makes your comments not so accurate.
If however, you processed with Transreckon, and i processed with UAD, and you (or whoever) could pick the Treck file out 19 or 20 times out of 20, then i would consider that to be a large quality gap. ESPECIALLY under usable (light to moderate) circumstances.
Theres not going to be a disparity between the two files, IF some are even able to tell the difference.

The UAD is fine for subtle enhancements, drum snap, pick attack, the usual, etc. I used to stray away from TDs because I never found one that worked for me, didn't make me cringe at all the unwanted artifacts, falling apart at extreme or even mild settings in some cases. If we need to post clips, so you can have a crack at consistently picking out transreck, we can do that. The Waves version needs a bit more study, but it will deliver a satisfactory end result. The Recon GUI is a bit more fun for sure. Transreck allows a bit more control and has a couple of extra features, but sound wise, its no better than the UAD plug. It doesnt "blow them all away" Thats just total fallacy. I have UADs SPL, Transient Monster, TransX, and Transreckon.
